3. Educate yourself and others about human trafficking. The more people who are aware of this issue and its prevalence, the more likely we are to put an end to it. Talk about it with your friends and family, share articles and posts on social media, and generally do what you can to raise awareness.
4. Advocate for policies that will help combat human trafficking. Write letters or make phone calls to your representatives and tell them that this is an issue that matters to you and that you want them to take action on it. vote for candidates who have made combating human trafficking a priority in their platforms . Stories from the Field
We all know the feeling of being in a new place, not quite sure where we fit in. That’s how I felt when I started my first job out of college. I was working in a office and had no idea what I was doing. It was completely different from anything I had ever experienced before. But, like anything, you get used to it and eventually find your place. Here are some stories from my time in the field that will hopefully give you a chuckle and make you feel better about your own first job experiences.
When I first started working, I would dress up really nicely for work every single day. I would wear dresses or skirts with heels and do my hair and makeup perfectly. But after a few weeks, I realized that nobody else in the office cared about dressing up as much as I did. In fact, most people were wearing jeans and t-shirts on a daily basis. So, I quickly learned to dress down for work and save the nicer clothes for special occasions.
I also remember being really nervous about making mistakes at work. Every time I made a tiny mistake, I would beat myself up over it for days afterwards. But then one day, one of my co-workers made a huge mistake that resulted in us losing an important client. And she didn’t seem to care at all! She just shrugged it off and moved on like it was no big deal. That’s when I realized that everyone makes mistakes sometimes – even at work – and that the world doesn’t end if you make one yourself.
Finally, there was the time when our boss asked us to stay late to finish up a project we were working on together as a team. We all grumbled about it because none of us wanted to stay any longer than we had to at work. But then our boss said something that changed our minds… He told us that he would buy pizza for everyone who stayed late to finish the project! Suddenly, everybody was eager to stay late and we ended up getting the project done much faster than expected – thanks to pizza incentive!
